To ensure you are fully prepared for whichever microadventure you choose, Mammoth Exploration will tailor a strength and fitness program specifically to your needs, existing level of fitness, making sure you’re supported in every step of the run up, and to ensure you’re ready for the physical demands of the expedition you’ve chosen to take.
At The Commando Temple, you’ll have access to high level coaching and extremely knowledgeable individuals, who will work with you to build on existing strengths in your physical capabilities, but also motivate and instruct you to improve on any areas that need developing in the context of your preferred package. The sense of accomplishment that comes from training right through for a feat such as climbing a mountain, or hiking a tor is incredible, and we work make sure you experience that in full.
GETTING STARTED
The fitness program is as much a part of the package as the trip itself. In our facility, you’ll be coached through both general and unorthodox training measures, as we work with your natural strength, to help you reach your full potential. The physical toll of traversing mountainous terrain, whether on a single mammoth trip, or something more intense, is not to be underestimated.
Adverse weather conditions, high temperatures, low temperatures, all have an effect on the body, that needs to be factored into preparation, especially over the course of a number of days. With a training plan, we can make sure that not only are you ready to meet the challenge of the mountain, but that you feel ready – both physically and mentally.

During your bespoke fitness program, you’ll get to know the men and women who’ll act as your guides on the trip. Working with your mountain leaders through the fitness area of your package as well as the trip itself, means that you can have confidence that the needs of your group are understood from the outset, all the way up to and through your journey.
Our facility houses an unrivaled selection of training equipment and apparatus, from old time Strongman hardware, to more widely used means of training, such as kettlebells, battle ropes, and plyometric jump boxes.
We’ll work with you on cardio, strength, and movement exercises, combining them and creating a program that builds real functional strength regardless of previous experience, and improving on any areas that could potentially compromise your physical well-being on the trip.
